Surivers of the Island

Jaws followed next to Sugar. He sniffed the air just to be sure they were safe this way. It appeared okay at the moment.

Sugar slowed slightly so Jaws was beside her. Nudging him she nodded towards a cave in the rubble that would alert them if humans came near because there were lots of smaller pile around it pack tightly together.

Jaws looked at her and nodded. He understood completely. He glanced back behind them as the pack caught up. Then he continued.

Sugar carefully lead the way over the rubble. She treaded carefully as it shifted under her white paws. She glanced back at the pack as they followed.

Jaws was walking at quite a quick pace. He hated how slow some members were going. They know we're running for our lifes here, right?

Sugar paused and looked back at the slower dogs in the pack. She growled softly and watched as they speed up a bit. Hurring down she entered the cave with care but found it empty and stable. Her white head poked out and she nodded to Jaws.

Jaws nodded. He went ahead of the pack inside the cave.

Sugar watched as the pack filed in. Nudging Jaws she slipped back out and away from the entrance. Sitting down she waited for the other alpha to catch up to her.

Jaws glanced over at Sugar then went over. He looked at the cave walls. There were drawings everywhere.

"How long will we be safe here?" Sugar asked turning her white head to Jaws. Her eyes were troubled as she gazed at him.

"For a few hours. This place doesn't look like it has been touched in years. This will be the last place they'll look." he replied, glancing at her.

Sugar sighed and hung her white head. "Where did I go wrong?" i asked softly. Shaking her head she rose to her paws. "If something happenes take care of the pack Jaws." she said moving away, "If I dont come back know that I love you." The white female lopped off towards where the humans were ready to draw them off and be caputred to keep her pack safe.

Jaws's eyes were wide when she told him she loved him. He watched as she ran outside. He wanted to yell out after her, but that would get the human's attention. Instead he stood there helpless and useless.

Seeihe humans going the other way to the cave Sugar nodded her head. She trotted back towards the pack and took up gaurd near the entrace. Her white pelt was clearly seen by the other dogs but was hidden from the humans should they come this way.

Jaws laid down exhausted. Truth was, he hadn't slept for atleast a week. The male had been up every night getting food and guarding the pack while everyone slept. Jaws rested his head on his paws, his eyes slowly shut.

Deciding that if the humans hadn't come this way yet then they would be safe for a while, Sugar stood. Her soft eyes looked over at Jaws and she blushed. The white female shifted her weight as she wonder what to do. After she had told the alpha male that she love him she wasn't sure if she would return. Taking a deep breath Sugar padded over and sat beside the black male. She didn't say anything and she curled her tail around her paws. The tip brushed Jaws on the side gently as she did.

Jaws was too tired to notice. He fell asleep in seconds. The doberman looked quite peaceful for once, no sign of worry or anger on his face.
